Answer:
I do not see a recent college graduate to be a project manager right away, for he/she will lack experience and credibility, not to mention that further education and a impressive projects portfolio are needed in order to be a project manager. As for salary, according to indeed.com1, in South Florida a project manager is paid an average $85,000.00 , SimplyHired.com2 on the other hand places the average salary in $68,000.00.

ReplyDeleteYou are correct Vagner in regards to the statement that a recent graduate cannot become a project manager. This position values experience and new graduates would definitely need some years of service to add to their list of successful project participation. The web site Project-Skills.com reports that the conventional career path of a project manager is to start as a Test manager, software engineer or business analyst with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. Salary.com also reported the salary of Project manager in South Florida but it list the salary based on experience. Median Salary was listed as
Project Manager I is $70,576.
Project Manager II is $84,733
Project Manager III is $97,897

I agree that there is no way for a recent college graduate to be able to be a project manager. For this position you need experience to be able to understand the situations your team can face while working in a project.
